SEFTIM a participé du 28 avril au 2 mai au 9ème Global Congress on Process Safety organisé à San Antonio (USA) par l’American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) et a présenté une contribution sur la protection foudre des dépôts de produits inflammables ou explosifs. Cette contribution a permis de faire un pont entre le monde de la chimie et celui de la protection foudre. Les discussion après la présentation et également à la fin de la session ont permis à de nombreuses personnes impliquées dans la sécurité, mais plus familiers avec le risque chimique, d’appréhender le risque foudre et ses particularités mais également les quelques moyens de protection permettant à moindre coût de diminuer ce risque.

This contribution enables to make a link between the chemical world and the lightning protection world. After the introduction and at the end of the session, the discussion enables to several persons involved in security, although more familiar with the chemical risk, to understand the lightning risk and its particularities but also some protection means to reduce this risk.
